Funky Wedding Invitations - Create a Modern and Unusual Feel to Your Wedding

Funky wedding invitations, what do we mean by this? Well, it is a hard one to describe. If someone says they want traditional wedding invites then you can probably guess what they want. But funky? What is "funky" to one person won't be to another. However, what I can say it that the invites will probably a bit different and modern. The design will probably feature an unusual theme and colour scheme. Here are some suggestions I have for funky wedding invitations.

Leopard Print - A very unusual one, but surprisingly this has been mentioned a few times when I have spoken to brides. This type of design is for couples with a strong sense of design. Couples who are confident and who aren't scared of what other people will think. Leopard print creates a rock 'n' roll feel to your wedding and can be combined with many colours to create a strong wedding theme.

Stripes - Multi-coloured stripes invoke a playful and fun feel to your wedding. Stripes can make a bold statement and can be changed to match any colour scheme.

Unusual Colour Combinations - Even in this modern world when it comes to weddings, most of us are still fairly traditional. However, you do come across some wedding stationery that uses bold and unusual colour schemes. Examples are

  • Deep Purple and Soft Yellow
  • Mint Green and Cherry Red
  • Bright Orange and Hot Pink
Damask - Damask themed wedding invitations take advantage of bold classical patterns to create striking designs. They often use powerful colour combinations such as Black, White and Red.

Vector Patterns/Illustrations - Many modern wedding stationers utilise vector graphic programs to create bold shapes and patterns. These designs are then printed on modern digital presses. These designs can often be fully personalised from colour choices to font styles. This is because they don't use older printing techniques that require plates. The design which is on screen can be sent straight to print without any fuss. Many designs are available and the colour choices are endless.
